Dave, my hubby is a town crier and a member of the Ontario Guild of Town Criers. This particular year was a special historic celebration at Fort Malden, with the Provincial Town Criers Championship and Tall Ships visiting. Many people were dressed in period costumes. This young ladies father was portraying the first town crier of Amhurstburg. I asked if I could take her photo, with a view to painting. She stood at attention every time she saw me but later as the hot humid weather took its toll, I was able to get the natural poses I was looking for. I love her fresh youthful face, her naiveté and her beautiful handmade eyelet dress. That was a memorable weekend.
